Free Blogging Tutorial to get you up and running

In a conversation with a friend the other day the topic of blogging came up. They had a new website but didn’t know anything about blogging. As we talked about blogging and I was showing her “around” I found a post on another blog about a free blogging tutorial. Of course, since I think it’s a worthy cause I decided to post it here as well.

Hope you get some value out of it, it is part of viral marketing test but there is value in the content.


I’m evaluating a multi-media course on blogging from the folks at Simpleology. For a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

My Thankful Tree

The Boys Working to Color our THANKFUL TREE

Every year, we host Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve is an open house type format that welcomes everyone and I have appetizers out all night so people can come and go. Christmas Day is mainly just my husbands family. Ha, I saw “just” but really he is one of four boys so that means between the families we have about 25 people.

Well, 2007 was a challenging year for us and several members of our family. We have had cancer, death, illnesses and unexpected big bills, marriage issues… you name it, someone has had it.

So for this Christmas Eve, I wanted to do something different since we have such a crowd of people coming in and out of the house and even with all the misfortunes of 2007, we did still have a lot to be Thankful for.

The Thankful Tree is Planted

I awoke in the middle of the night a couple nights before Christmas Eve and had this idea of the kids creating a “Thankful Tree”. I bounced the idea off my husband (who normally poo-poo’s all my crazy ideas) and he actually raised his eyebrows, thought about it, and said “I like it”. WOW! That was amazing enough for me to know I had a keeper of an idea.

Christmas Eve day, I brought out the big paper roll and drew the outline of a Christmas Tree. Then I set the kids to a coloring (YES, I KNOW, I have a boy that hates to wear more then his shorts at home even though it’s the middle of winter in New England…)

A Change of Manhood- the Big “V”

A Bag of Peas, Band of Brothers Movie and Sitting in the Recliner….Knowing that your “done” at 4 kids……. Priceless………… Andy and his peas

Our social group conversations first started with hot topics pertaining to:

Vacations and Night Out Activities
Getting Married and the Wedding
The anticipation of the first baby and who is next
After kids…. what social life? When do we get to get out?
Kids are a little older, getting out a little more with monster family playdates
The hot topic now? Who’s the latest to get the snip -snip…..

Boy, we are getting old, aren’t we?

Of course, the women do nothing but say “OHHHH PLEASE” 15 minutes in the Doctors Office, gives you little to complain about after how many hours of labor! We can be so nurturing and so un-sympathetic at the same time!

Christmas Present Idea for Military Moms

I have a nephew that is in the Navy, no he is not a Military Mom but he did attend a baby shower for one of the to-be dads in his unit. He was very sweet to ask me first to create a Tubby Bundle baby towel apron that had a special Navy flair.

Of course, I always love creating custom orders that reflect the personality of the new mom/dad or baby so off I went. What do you think of this custom embroidery work? It is placed on the top chest of the Tubby Bundle baby towel and now dad or mom can stay dry while bonding during baby bath time!

This video is part 2 of a Special Thank You I sent out to the over 100 Bath Time Giveway Contestants over at SkimbacoLifestyle.com. I have been wanting to do something really special for EVERYONE and this popped into my head.

So I decided to take a lesson from Motrin, and ASK BEFORE I PROMOTE!

As you’ll see in the video below, and from the feedback of the other awesome work at home moms that I chat with at my other website http://moms-business-coach.com we often become so engrossed in balancing everything, ironing our Super Mom capes and keeping current customers happy we sometimes don’t spend enough time evaluating the “why’s” even though they are vital to business.

Why do people come to our site and then leave without buying?
Why do customers find us out of the millions of other websites
Why do customers trust us?
