If I had the money for any business

Hi! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You'll get all my posts plus private posts plus special offers I occasionally share with my subscribers for free!

I have had two businesses that I have wanted to start but both require a hefty start up price tag. But it’s good to dream so I’ll put them out.

The first, is my Alpaca Farm.. we have enough land at our house, we just need the barn, the fencing and the animals but boy, that’s the type of life I love. Being out in the barn with the animals, getting my daughter involved with 4-H like I was and adding value and building the business. For those that don’t know about Alpacas, I’ll fill you in more when I have more then a minute since I’m waiting for the school bus, but it can be a profitable business.

The Second- I live in a very nice country setting outside Boston but I’ll be honest, the world of big box and the same old, same old is all around us. I would love to create a resteraunt that has a family flair with entertainment and great food with affordable family pricing all in one.  I have seen several of these places in other parts of the country with a good theme and signature fun interactive component it has a huge potential here. You know where you can get your own ball of dough and make a pizza while the waiter throws rolls around at all the customers, creating a sense of community with other diners.  My husband says I’m nuts, but boy, that’s the kind of place I would want to go out and eat and not worry about the broken crayons and placemat keeping the kids entertained while I get a break from cooking!

Lovers of old vido games

Blast from the Past night.  I really wasn’t looking to surf the web, I’m trying to shut donw the computers for the night and my husband fell asleep in the bunk beds putting the boys to bed (yes, they are still awake and he is not)…. but tonight I found a site that had the fantastic old game of Space Invaders, I loved this game! Played on the old Intellivision that todays XBox & Playstation kids could never understand. My fingers used to go numb from playing this game because we had to push the buttons so hard. Ahhh the good ole days…. check out and see if you can find your old favorite game here.

Legitimate Work At Home Jobs Online

February 2, 2008 | 1 Comment

You get bombarded every day with emails or pop ups while browsing the internet with the promise of making money online or “legitimate work at home jobs online”.

As a result I found the following:  Affiliate Programs are key to making money on the internet.

You are basically a marketer for a core product and when someone buys from your hoplink you get a little cash.

There are three keys to sucess for affiliate programs.

You need to have a well identified niche and it must me a niche you can leave a mark in.

A large email distribution for that niche market is crucial.

The ability to generate large traffic to your squeeze page- after all, who is going to buy it if noone sees it.

Two of the most popular affiliate programs you generally see are Ebay and Amazon. I’m not counting all the MLM businesses or the clickbank products since I consider those in a catagory themselves.

Ebay- The primary focus of making money with Ebay is for you to sell what you have to make money. While this method has never worked for me personally to make alot of money, it’s okay for a few dollars here and there.

There are some that do it and do it well enough by having hundreds of listings and sourcing products to sell that they make out ok. I found the cost of listing was a bit high, maybe their new price decrease will help encourage sellers to list their products but it looks like you still get hit with steep fees when the product sells.

I also have been turned off by ebay for the pure fact that so many people are “making a living” on ebay that you end up having a hundred of the same exact product listed instead of individual sellers that were selling something they had around the house. I  preferred all the little sellers clearing out their house and selling what they don’t use- I just thought that was more fun and community like.

However, Ebay now has an affiliate program and this is of more interest to me. You sign up and get your ebay widget and if someone clicks thru then you get a few cents. It’s automatic… I like automatic. SQUIDOO has an easy pre made affiliate module that allows you to pick ebay products or fill in search terms and they will populate, take seconds to put one up.

The other popular affiliate program that can earn you as much as 10% of each sale is Amazon.com.  Now that Amazon sells so much more then just books, it is easier to find products that relate to your posts or articles and link to it or review it and get a quick easy sale.

Not sure how to get started making money on line with affiliate programs? I’m just finishing up a little report that shows you the steps, what to look for and how to evaluate affiliate programs to get the most bang for your buck. Until next time keep searching for legitimate work at home jobs online and leave a post on what works for you!
