Shopping with Kids

Hi! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You'll get all my posts plus private posts plus special offers I occasionally share with my subscribers for free!

Grocery shopping with kids can be a challenge. Gone are the days you can run in and pick up exactly what is on your list and check out within 20 minutes. Shopping with kids can be a fun and educational experience for all ages, but yes, it does take work and you must be committed.

First, make a Grocery List just for your kids. Have them cut out pictures from magazines of their favorite foods or use expired coupons of items you frequently shop for. Glue the pictures on a sturdy piece of stock paper and presto you have a personalized Treasure Hunt. Provide your child with a pencil to check items off as you find them for another level.

As you place your produce bags count the items outloud with your kids or ask them about colors and shapes of fruit and veggies. Make it interactive and you will not have to spend as much time nagging them.
